Furnish it: 4BR at 370 Central Park West

4BR at 370 Central Park West has been featured on our website for a while now. Offered for rent by Eberhart Brothers, with a price tag of $9,500 per month (recently reduced from $9,750), it is still waiting for the right person to occupy its approximately 1,900 square foot* of living space. And if that person was reading this post right now, perhaps she would find it helpful to see how the apartment can be furnished to show its full potential. We are happy to provide her with a sample. Furnish it: Stockholm, by IKEA

Remember our Studios, 6 out of 15 we have picked from the recent rental offerings across town and ‘furnished’ for you? If you paid attention to the furniture plans we have offered, you might have noticed that in our drawings we used a brand new set of furniture currently offered by IKEA – Stockholm – with some additional pieces from their other collections. Today we want to show you these furniture again in pictures, and give you an idea of a budget you need to set aside for each of the apartments we applied them for. [more]

Furnish it: Studio at The Ventura

Studio at The Ventura with pass-through kitchen, good closets, and an in-home washer and dryer. We actually like this alcove studio a lot: similar in feel to the one at MiMA, it just has this little extra space we feel more comfortable with. Just take a look at our furniture plan and judge for yourself: [more]

Furnish it: Studio at The Pavilion

Studio at The Pavilion – the largest of ’em all (745/658*)! If it just had few more windows… but we’ll take the corner one as well. Furniture-wise, we have actually had to add some for the space not to look too empty. If space is what you are looking for, make sure to put The Pavilion on your list. [more]

Furnish it: Studio at MiMA

Studio at MiMA is the smallest of the 6 studios we have picked for for this little contest (560 sq. ft on the outside, and 450 on the inside of the walls*). It comes with an alcove, but it’s pretty tiny. In the end, we were able to fit our furniture set in, but there is no space to dance around it, that’s for sure. The good thing: there is enough amenities in the building to compensate for this shortcoming. [more]

Furnish it: Studio at Emerald Green

Studio at Emerald Green with separate queen size office, stainless steel appliances, granite counters, lots of custom closet space, full size washer and dryer. Contender to becoming our favorite one. 667 / 611 square foot in size, respectively on the outside / inside of the walls*. [more]

Furnish it: Studio at The Tate

Studio at The Tate features a nice size sleeping alcove and a separate walk-in dressing area (combination of a bathroom, walk-in closet, and washer and dryer closet). Space-wise, this studio is in a 500 square foot range*, but its good layout compensates for being at the lower end of range in our selection. [more]

Furnish it: Studio at Le Rivage

Studio at Le Rivage features high ceilings, oak strip floors, a mini loft, walk-in closet, and stainless steel appliances. We find 600 square feet of living space* generous enough for New York standards for this type of apartment. Clean rectangle layout makes it easy for furnishing. [more]
