Few days ago we wrote a post about a few interesting options if you were in the market for a studio apartment for rent, priced at under $2,000 per month, and looking to settle in either on the Upper East Side, Upper West Side, Lower East Side, Greenwich Village, or SoHo. To qualify for such apartment, your annual income would have to be of about 40x the monthly rent, which equals to $80,000. Now, what about if you are a recent graduate, on your first job, and making about $50K per annum? [more]
Introducing: Custom Furniture Plan
If you searched through our website, you have probably seen this before: on some occasions, after sharing with you apartment listing information, we grabbed the floor plan provided by the owner and ‘furnished it’, to show you better how you can arrange the space. Until now, we did it only for rental apartments, but of course those ‘for sale’ are not any different:
Original Floor Plan – Before:
Our Furniture Plan – After:
On some occasions, and for limited number of plans – when we had them available, and found them interesting – was the biggest limitation of making this ‘the universal resource’: applicable for virtually every apartment.
It was not too custom, either, in a sense that it did not account for the particular situation of the user.
So, today we are coming up with a custom solution: we have employed a team of skilled architects and interior designers to ‘furnish’ virtually every single floor plan for you. The team is being led by our Creative Director and Architect, Agnieszka Cichy
Currently, we are offering one package – Custom Furniture Plan Standard – and one add on feature – Custom Furniture Plan Add On
It is a paid service, but we hope you will find it of value.

On the budget: Under $2,000
While it is quite hard to call it ‘on the budget’, for simply to qualify, your annual income has to be above $80,000 (given customary ’40x the monthly rent’ requirement), it seems like a bottom line price in the city these days. In some neighborhoods, that is. If you go further uptown or cross the river, you may get something less expensive, but, do you really want to compromise? Well, you most likely don’t, but you will, my friend, this way or the other. So, let’s see what you can get for your ‘Under $2,000’ per month: [more]
